Selections for Pune-29-08-2015

Race 1:  This race is between Passion Prince & Grand March. If Prasad, who is at present in awfully bad form in the saddle, can show case his potential the latter can pull it off against the former.

Race 2:  Having missed the winning bracket by a whisker in his last start Jager Bomb now entrusted to the top jockey should not lose.

Race 3:  Having found out that he cannot get longer distances The Way I am, now switched to middle distance, should shed his maiden status today.

Race 4: Zana who found herself getting woefully mild assistance from the saddle from the 5kg claimer last time, should relish the stronger handling of Yash this time to score. Sparingly raced Lord Jim may have to wait for his turn. Not this time.

Race 5: Having failed as favourite Bay Of Secrets should have benefited by that lung opener can now make amends. If the BV holds Christmas Eve can assert herself.

Race 6:  After winning a race in same class at Bangalore Ageless holds the edge over his 9 rivals in this class II race in the hands of the rejuvenated Zervan.

Race 7:  Forever Yours should profit by her forward run in race No.38 and should get the measure of this field made up of mostly first timers and back markers.

Race 8:  Still a maiden after seven career starts Ensign now demoted to the lowest class has the ability to win this race if the rookie is able to handle her reasonably well.

Selections for Mysore Races-28/08/2015

Race 1:  Amazing Striker, Ice Kingdom & Tuscano are the contenders of which Tuscano appeals to me personally.

Race 2:  If Sharp Witted fails for any reason, I suspect it will be Alecia who could upset. Romeo though having credential and with top rider astride may struggle since he has often been under veterinary care.  

Race 3:  Satellite may finally see an end to the disappointments and should romp home under the able assistance from Trevor Patel.

Race 4:  Magical Light some how appeals to me ahead of Castle Key who strictly speaking has the best credentials to win this race.

Race 5:  Since I don't fancy MAM horses in a memorial Trophy race, I am looking for an upset. Amazing Redd who finished ahead of Shrewd Master in one of their earlier meeting may create a flutter.

Race 6:  Now back to Terms company Acclaimed now who is better on scales to Royal Salute should now avenge his defeat in their earlier meeting.

Race 7:  I don't have a clue to this race to be frank. May be Cannes who failed as a favourite in the hands of Suraj may now sprout wings under the guidance of the claimer.

Race 8: The 3YO maiden Ireland may give veteran rider Srinath and now veteran trainer Zareer Darashah something to cheer about at the end of the day.

Selections for Hyderabad races on 23/08/2015

Race 1:  Advocate General is likely to corner much of the punting interest. However Ivanova is likely to give a tough fight to AG.

Race 2:  Chal Dhanu Chal with better saddle assistance as compared to her competitor Kalinda can win this plate race.

Race 3:  With positive switch in the saddle this bangolore return horse Beau Sabrier should win this race at cramped odds.

Race 4:  In this tricky race for horse rated upto 75 5YO & Over, Coral Springs may spring a surprise for a quick L D Silva double at lucrative odds.

Race 5:  The four year old maiden Dancing Farha is likely to shed her maiden status in this race even though Agrresive Approach may try to impress by trying to win this race for the owner A V Jayaprakash who may present in the course hoping that his other ward Arrogant Approach may win the main event of the day.

Race 6:  Pacific Star a 6YO may please its owner Col.S.B. Nair by winning the Army Cup if only for the fact that the quality of the 5YOs in the race is a tad inferior.

Race 7:  The question is, whether Tintinabulation who annexed this race last year still retains the same zest and energy against younger horse? I believe that his class will carry him to the post first ahead of his rivals one last time.

Race 8:  Cloud Dancer who has had a profitable experience by running a forward race over 2000M in his last start with younger horses now finds himself in his own age group and therefore has the best chance to win this race against a moderate set of opponents.

Pune Selections for 23/08/2015

Race 1:  When one considers the credentials of the each of the runners there are more negatives than positives that one finds.One is not able to discern any clue to the performance of the runners. Finally it boils down to 3 runners Sansa, Sir Song & Allegiance. Considering that 3YO s find it difficult to win a class V race at this time of their career I am constrained to negate the chances of Sansa. Sir Song though getting a ride from the top performing Jockey, I am letting it pass because the colt has shown no form whatsoever in his last 4 starts being always more than 20 lengths behind the winner. Though long in tooth, Allegiance has shown some sort of form running closer to the frame in his last two starts and therefore is having some positive going for him. May win.

Race 2:  In my view the race is between the two 3YOs accepted to run.Of these two I am nominating Cannonball Run to succeed against Stardom Calling since the former has had a lung opener and also positive switch in jockey.

Race 3: Of the 3 contenders, Royal Seal, Top Cat & Velvet Amari the last named has been found to be EIPH Gr1 after her last start.Hence out of my consideration. Even though I am tempted to nominate Top Cat to win this race I think that Royal Seal who has had a quiet sojourn in Bangalore and had an outing in a Million race with superior runners like Bold Command,Starlet,Heaven Is Here, Flamboyance China One etc., who were rated much higher than him will have a Bold Show to shed his maiden status.

Race 4:  Having scorched the turf with a speedy display of clocking 58.38 Seconds in her last start Polished Chrome should score an encore in this class II race and claim the Trophy.

Race 5:   This race appears to be a match race between the winner & runner up of the PBMM. I am slightly inclined towards the runner up in that race Columbiana to turn the tables on Costa Del Sol.

Race 6:  Had it not for the run in lower class in his last start I would have considered Blitzcrieg as my choice to annexe the this stakes race of Class III. Since i have to look for older horses after considering the credentials of the likes of Strategic Move,Draco, Samba Warrior, Toofan, La Tonnarella and Just By Chance I find that in spite of being a 5YO Presence has a fighting chance to claim this race.

Race 7:  Winner picking is hazardous in this rrace for 3YO unraced horses. Looking at the preparations Final Encounter appears to have been well prepared. However surprises in the form of Charging Empress, Denny Crane and Be Smart cannot be ruled out.

Race 8:  Having won a same class race under weights raised category in her last start Few Dollars More is at a distinct advantage to win this race and is nominated by me as the Days Best bet .

Double       :  CANNON BALL RUN (2-6) & POLISHED CHROME (4-4)

Selections for 30.07.2015 - Bangalore races

1. Race 1: Of the 3 contenders Collossal Moments, Lozen and Zulifiqar, the last named can carry the day if the rookie rider can keep his wits about him. The first named which was unwisely campaigned over a distance now brought back to 1200m, but that may turn out to her undoing. Lozen though entrusted to the top rider may just about lack in experience which may prove costly here.
2. Race 2:   It is time To The Future delivered.The threat may emanate not from Dancing Jessie or Crazy Pineapple but from Tuscano.
3. Race 3:  After his suggestive 2nd El Fenix may pick this Trophy race with ease.
4. Race 4:  Acclaimed has been running game races in terms category. Now that he is coming down run in handicap race should comfortably annexe this cup race with Bold Majesty giving him a semblance of a fight.
5. Race 5:  After an eye catching 2nd to Big Ticket, Mystic Music has it in him to claim this plate race even though the rider has switched allegiance to Medinah who would have been a contender but for his habit of slow start at the gates.
6. Race 6:  We may get to see a bold & commanding performance from Bold Command in this race.Neither any Flamboyance nor the sweet temptation with the words Heaven is Here is going to change the result.
7. Race 7:  Cannes could well be Suraj Narredu's first win in the colours of Manjri Stud now that he has signed retainer ship with Shapoor Mistry.
8. Race 8:  While Assidous, Volcano and Go Lucky Go will be competing with each other in the betting board, Amazing Redd may surprise them all.
9. Race 9: Androstos' disinterested 6th in his last start may be ignored. He has it in him to succeed against the likes of Fresh Start, All Proof, Secret Prayer and Southern Fantasy etc. It may be All Proof who may fight with Androstos at the wire.
